I met Lights 'cause she was a friend of Adam Young, who is my friend. Nah, scratch that! The three of us were never really friends (only the both of them are!). One fateful day while I was logged in my Twitter account, I was doing my daily Owl City stalking, only to find how he himself was a big fan of somebody else. She was Lights! I downloaded her music and watched her live performances on YouTube, and the rest is fandom history.
I like Lights because she has so much spunk in her! She seems like the kind of girl who would get purple hair on any day. She also speaks (and sings) with a lisp, which makes me identify her music more easily. Lights makes and stars in wicked videos with animated characters set in outer space! And she's my superhero because she writes and plays good music, tickles her gnarly synth with much magic it makes you feel your entire life is a video game!
I'm rarely a fan of female singers because my being a fan is utterly intertwined with my being a girl, thus I almost always prefer men who sing their hearts out (and make you melt) than women who are pretty and can sing. Despite that, I like Lights because every time I watch her, I wanna be like her!
