Dog Days Are Over

Good morning! My weekend has been a good one! Lots of food and going out going on.

I now eat veggies, and broccoli is my favorite. Hello fellas on the plate (which are all now in my tummy).

I also had my favorite Filipino dish, the silog!

FOOOOOOD. I wonder how we could live without em?

Ms. Christie

Lately, I've been reading some awesome books from a single author, the Queen of Mystery, Agatha Christie. This 1930's author definitely knows how detective novels should be written. And her English is grand.

My most favorite so far is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, which had the most unanticipated ending. You should read it if you like surprises.

Another great one is the Murder on the Orient Express. Makes me wanna ride the Orient Express and become a detective myself. Well-crafted case in there!

I'm currently reading these two books:

Must a murder happen inside a train, plane or any moving object for it to be interesting? It puzzles me.

I should read more! It makes life a lot more interesting. It's amazing how letters and pages can take you to places.

Last month, we also flew paper lanterns. How magical!

We were surprised that the lanterns were heart-shaped. It was a good sight to see hearts floating in the sky.

Also, don't forget to drop by our food blog, Manila Foodistas.

Growth

Things you can do to grow:

1. Google or Wiki everything

Whenever I'm online and I do work on my computer, I always make sure a window of Google or Wikipedia is open just so I could type in whatever comes to mind-- so I could be well-rounded, have a good general idea on a wide range of topics. You'll never know what your interviewer will ask you next, or what trivia you could share on an interesting conversation. I Google/Wiki everything: from my health concerns to Chuck Norris, to the meaning of the word stupendous. It's not wrong to admit you do not know everything in this world. The wealth of information is out there, just gotta get hold of them!

2. Pursue something other than your main line of work

Whether you're a med school student or a budding marketing professional, there's gotta be a hobby you always wanted to do (or passion you haven't discovered yet) which you could pursue. When I was in college and I was still studying human behavior and cognition, I wanted to take another track which I believed I personally loved-- design. And it worked out well for me, I could even make a living out of it today.

The truth is that there are so many things out there! You can marathon, do some crochet, be so passionate about detective novels, cook or bake or even write a story. It will make your life worth living!

3. Go for it!

Be queen of application! Apply for things--scholarships, raffles, freebies, work opportunities. You'll realize that applying (being in the process is far more fulfilling) that the results will just be a bonus. Whether it works out for you in the end or not, there's no harm in trying.

4. Read the Bible

Recently, I decided to regularly read the New Living Translation version of the Bible because it uses more layman terms, which could be understood by normal people like us. (Just Google NLT.) I appreciate how simple God's Word could be, that we can understand it in one reading. Food for the soul, yes!

Hope those inspired you today!

This Just In!

Hello cyberspace!

I've been away for a long time, leaving my blog un-updated because I've been long planning to create my own website which has now finally hatched. It took me blood, tears and lots of coding to get this working so I hope you appreciate whatever's in here! Yay!

You'll see most of my works, photos, a little text and just most of the things I like doing. I tried to keep it as interesting as possible. I'd like to think this is an official launch of my graphic design career which I've been.. mmhmm.. informally having since I was a student! So yay for having a new phase in my life.

Please like, share, recommend, whatever floats your boat, and you'll be loved for it.

Thank you for visiting and have fun!

xx
